First of all, I just realized that today is the 19th. I've written the 18th on everything today. Go,me.
I feel like I almost make myself wear jeans on Friday, since the only day of the week that I actually can. I suppose I could on Mondays, I would just have to change before work. I never realized how much I really do love jeans in the winter until my new job removed them as an option.
The good side to that is that I'm much more creative and wear a lot more skirts. It's also made me much less reliant on the wardrobe staple. The bad side is that some days, you just wanna wear jeans.
I can't wait until it's a little lot warmer and I can pair this sweater and necklace with a pair of long, tattered jean shorts. It's 100% inspired by a picture of Taylor Swift in a summer issue of Glamour. If I wasn't feeling so lazy, I'd show it to you, but I am, so I won't.
Luckily, no one is standing behind me here. Looks like the rear view may be a little scandalous.
booty + low rise = hello, butt crack
Hahaha ... that reminds me. I once had a very dear friend tell me that I was lucky that my butt crack starts way low, swearing that hers practically starts in the middle of her back. Hahaha ... What kind of people have these conversations? And who the hell would ever repeat it on the internets?!
Love you, Lindsey!

Jeans: Bitten by SJP, $10 - Shoes: Madden Girl, $23
Love your rebel poses; the necklace is beautiful. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I love the necklace with the sweater.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute with your hair like that! I love the interpretation of Taylor Swift's look. I think I remember the one your citing.
ReplyDeleteLook at you working it!
ReplyDeleteLove your necklace paired with that grey jumper :) Casual, but oh so chic.
Totally know what your friend means about her butt crack. My booty honestly starts so high it's hard to find jeans to fit in. Like those ones you commented on in my karaoke post? That red shirt is extra long for a reason... that reason is sitting down.
Hehe!
It's okay, I still write 2009.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! Especially the necklace- it's gorgeous! I often do a similar thing with jeans- mixing casual pieces w/ dressy ones. Also love the sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love the super casual jeans and the super luxe pearls. I thought that you where wearing a plain old gray sweatshirt until I saw the sleeves. This is sooooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteOh you look so chic. I love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteI love jeans : ) But I also love dresses and skirts. So many fashion bloggers dislike jeans that it's hard to know how to style them sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI am crying with jealousy right now :(. That Stella & Dot necklace has been on my wishlist FOREVER.
ReplyDeleteI love your sweater, its a mix of a sweatshirt and a dress sweater. So great and you look great in everything today.
Haha, about the butt crack convo, we are convinced my best friend has a butt crack that sits high and it's genetic, her sister has it too.. too funny!
ReplyDeleteThis look is so cute and chic. I still love that necklace!
I love the detail on the sleeves of your sweater. Also, I can't believe how great those jeans look on you. Perfect casual outfit.
ReplyDeleteSuper CUTE! The necklace is gorgeous, and I love the silvery grey ballet flats that match the grey top. You look really comfy yet really stylish!
ReplyDeleteLove you too, Kyla!
ReplyDeleteIt's denim all round today! Love your take on it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little disenchanted with my jeans at the moment so I think I'm gonna try the custom route after I saw yours following the Weardrobe Conference.
Can you remind me of their name again? I'm all pumped to order a pair in anticipation of Autumn.
Thanks Hon'.
The strands of pearls just amp this up to the most awesome level. I'm loving this so much, Kyla!
ReplyDeleteI had a friend that used to tell me the same thing!! Guess we're fortunate? haha
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how you're rockin this casual look with some super cute flats and a gorgeous necklace =D
Kyla I LOVE LOVE your hair in these pictures!! I don't know whether you curled it a bit or something, but you look so cute!

ReplyDeleteLove that sweater! And I love your sexy come hither first picture... yowzas!
ReplyDelete(I swear I am not attracted to women i just think ur hawt)
You look so, so cute in these pictures! That necklace and the flats are perfect with this.
ReplyDeleteYour booty + low rise equation is so funny and so true.
love it!!!
ReplyDeletei love when girls wear casual and then dress it up with a fun accessory!
Of the many fashion-blogs out there, yours is the only one with witty prose!
ReplyDeleteYou have a comic outlook and entertaining command of language.
Love the jeans =).
ReplyDeleteI really, really, really love this. It's so nice and comfy-looking, but refined enough that it's not too casual. I want to try a look like this sometime.
ReplyDeleteLOL I love the butt-crack comment. Damn those low-rise jeans.
ReplyDeleteI love this look, I should wear more jeans, I always look like a bum though.
I friggin' love your hair!
your friend is not alone in the high crack problem! it seriously causes some issues with pants, haha.
ReplyDeleteps your necklace is amaaaaazing! and i now no longer feel strange for wearing a sweatshirt with a bunch of chains!
i dont usually comment but i love this look! your hair looks so pretty and goes really well with your necklace!
ReplyDeleteso simple but glam
That butt crack conversation had me cracking up!
ReplyDeleteMy old job only let us wear jeans on Fridays, but at my current job I can wear them anyday. I try to challenge myself to not wear them all the time though.
your hair looks great wavy like that!
ReplyDeleteOh my gah, the pearls. I love them.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm glad you shared that conversation. Hilarious. I have seen way too much of some girls who shop in my store and wear low rise jeans. If only they had your "trait." Haha.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely love the fact that you wore pearls with a sweatshirt! It's so crazy glam!
ReplyDeleteI swear I have a high butt crack! I have had this conversation many times with my BFF. My crack is ALWAYS showin!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rebekah promised me some free jewelry when I did my giveaway and never delivered :( Boo.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, love love love this outfit. The contrast between that gorgeous necklace and the casual sweater is fab!
Your hair looks amazing!! Totally love the necklace and the poses too.
ReplyDeleteOooh I think these jeans look great on ya! I love jeans. The convo between you and your friend made me LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love this look. That necklace really jazzes up the whole outfit!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks gorgeous as well!
Next to black, grey would definitely be my other favorite color to wear. There's just something about it... it can't be explained, but everyone looks great in it and the color can be applied to any garment. Adore that sweater! And I love the necklace you chose to go with it. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the pearls, and by the way, HILARIOUS! (butt crack) Take it from a woman over 40 with a small butt, well actually NO butt, the crack, she still shows in low risers !!! My 75 yr. old Mom loves to poke me and say, "LOOK, LOOK!" whenever she sees a shop girl in lowrisers. (She pokes her toe down mine, if she sees it,my crack) and have you ever seen one even though they Weren't even bending over!
ReplyDeleteThat's some kind of art! Anyhoo, thanks for the laugh!
I love love love the necklace and how it makes the outfit chic... well that and the sleeves with the ties.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was an RA in college, I had a resident who would brag about her butt crack being low and how that allowed her to wear jeans that the rest of us couldn't. I think that is true. I think that mine is actually higher than most people's... so i have to be super careful. Now I have contributed to your interwebs talk of cracks. :)
So... I was creepy and found my Glamour issue with the Taylor picture, haha. I like this winter version with those flats. So, so chic!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look - the necklace makes it!
ReplyDeleteThe sweater/necklace combo is really cute!! And I love your hair in this post!

ha ha ha! I have to side with your friend on this one. I too have a butt crack that seems to begin half way down my spine and a more than ample booty that follows it. But, until they make jeans for me (tall, curvy, not low rise, not mom jeans high rise) I just embrace the coin slot!
ReplyDeletei just love you in that sweatshirt! and the huge necklace and rolled up jeans are absolutely perfect with it.
ReplyDeleteand boy do i know the butt crack problem with jeans--i am one of the unfortunates with a crack that seems to start halfway up my back (sigh). just in case you were wondering why most of what i wear is high-waisted, there you go.
This sounds like a conversation that I would definitely have with one of my pals. The outfit is so cozy looking and the necklace dresses it right up. I'll be doing this very thing, thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteYou have perfected the chic jeans and casual shirt look with this outfit!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
