TRAILSPOTTING

Since I've been training for my upcoming 10K, I've been "forced" to go for longer runs.  (I realize no one is making me do it, but it is part of the program.  And I'm anal, so I do it.)  Though I must admit, I've loved ever minute of them.  They're long enough to really let your body relax into a rhythm and your mind fall into the zone.

They've also afforded me the opportunity to find more photo spots.  The places with a little interest and not so many people.  Or so I thought.  On Friday, I slipped out to this bike path near the gold course on a now closed-down road.  It was about 6pm, and I couldn't believe how much traffic there was.  Not vehicle traffic, though - bike and jogger traffic.  But guess what?!  I was recognized by a reader!  An actual non-related, non-friend, non-obligatory reader!  I really wasn't too hard to spot, though - traipsing around a gravel bike path in wedges and carrying a tripod, but I was still pretty stoked.  It was awesome meeting you, Denise!  Thanks for stopping to chat!

Anyway, I've been on the lookout for a pair of drapey cargos for some time.  I tried on a pair at JCP the other night, but my thoughts on the brands ill fit on me were confirmed.  So, the hunt went on.  Of all places, I ended up in Charlotte Russe about 15 minutes 'til closing and came upon these.  The olive green color is exactly what I wanted and the fabric is so light and soft.  They were buy one, get one for $5, so I picked up a pair in grey, too.  There's a bit of a learning curve to them, since they're so low-waisted with a drawstring, but I love them none the less.

Don't forget - if you have a question for me, you can ask here.  So far, the questions are great and I can't wait to start answering them!

  10. I think I would faint if I saw you in -real life- and maybe pinch that clutch you're using again mwahaha! You look fab. Hey tell me, when you first, really at the beginning, started running, was it a struggle? I'm struggling, and when you say 10km I start gasping for air. I'll fess up - can't run for more than 10 minutes without a rest :(

I love this outfit. The wedges jazz it up so well. And the necklace is so up my alley it hurts.

How cool that you met a reader? That's happened to me once and it's such a great feeling. Here's to many more encounters!

Finally, Work. It. OUT girl! I can't wait to hear all about your race. For me, running is the perfect time to sort out my thoughts. There is no interruption. Just me and my iPod. You're gonna kill it!

  21. I love those shoes!! The wedges look great with the whole outfit. Are they from Rue this year?

When is the date of your 10K? My 5K isn't till September, which is FINE, because I am totally not in the groove yet.

  22. I.LOVE.These pants! the shoes are awesome too. You look GREAT! I was going to buy a pair of cargo pants like these two days ago, but decided to buy workout clothes instead, which I regret cause I ended up not liking the workout pants that I chose, and the cargo pants were way cuter.
