THE WEARDROBE DRESS: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Major thanks to Modcloth for this super cute LBD, aptly named The Weardrobe Dress.
I'm sure you've seen a couple of the other NYC Conference bloggers styling up their dresses and here's mine:

I realize my photo quality is not so hot, but this was not exactly something I was willing to traipse around the neighborhood in while taking pictures of myself.  Not that it's not totally cute, it's just that it's 1 o'clock in the afternoon on a Monday in central Pennsylvania.

Anyway, I digress ... this is how I styled mine -  how would you style yours?

Vintage brooch from Marnie's jewelry - Dress: Courtesy of Modcloth - Tights: Target, $3 - Shoes: Payless, $20 (years ago)

I decided to take a vintage spin on it, but still keeping it simple.  I added a vintage brooch for just a little glitz and patterned tights.  I'm usually terrified of patterned tights, but I actually surprised myself when I pulled these on.  I love the way they look with the black dress and pop of of the white shoes.  I have to be honest, though - the dress is quite a bit snug on me, so I ended up taking the hem up a couple of inches.  It's such a cute design, but just not enough fabric to handle all the cargo on the lower deck, if you know what I mean.

Sooooo ... how would you wear this LBD?

  1. That is SO cute on you!! I love the tights. I'd probably do tights too...maybe some knee high boots and on on the dozen blazers I own thrown over it!

  2. ADORABLE, Kyla! I'd wear it with a long camel cardigan, thick black tights, my over-the-knee cognac-colored boots and the Stella & Dot Garden Party chandeliers and Selma brooch cuff (OF COURSE!).

  3. You look fantastic. I would wear it with bare legs and to-the-knee black boots with a heel, or my pink ankle boots with kitten heel. Since I've been discovering scarves lately, I'd also add a colorful chiffon number at the neck!

  4. The patterned tights were a very good call. I'd do it up with knee-highs in a bright colour and a tweed blazer, I think.

  5. Love the way you styled this! It definitely says vintage chic :) I'm not quite as brave with hem length so I'd probably go with some opaque tights in a bright color (fuschia, red or yellow perhaps?) and let those gorgeous details on the dress speak for itself!

  6. I would definitely do the tights. It's a bit too short for me. Then maybe boots and a long sweater jacket.

  12. Those are great tights! Since it's all sorts of chilly here, I woudl be tempted to wear tights and maybe a thin sweater underneath- so it's more of a jumper. Otherwise, cardigan city!
