RAMBLINGS OF A MONDAY AFTERNOON

Yeah, yeah - it's a little late again.  Sorry!

1.  No outfit post today.  Barely a post at all, in fact.  That's because I was doing this:

bed 1
bed 3
bed 2

We've lived in our house for almost 4 years, and barely decorated at all.  I think after painting the entire place and redoing the bathroom and kitchen all in the first week of owning it, we were too tapped out to do anything else.  Apparently, it's taken almost 4 years to recover.  Yeah, we suck.

Well, I couldn't stand not having our bedroom pulled together more, so I dug out this head board I made in our old apartment, covered it with new fabric and hung 4 cork tiles above it.  John has a thing about hanging picture frames and such things above his head - something about them falling on his head, yada yada ... I don't know.  Anyway, I found the perfect compromise with these cork tiles.  I painted them white and intend to fill them with black and white / sepia photos of us throughout our relationship.  Now, all I have to do is get the photos printed and find that other pillowcase!

2.  My outfit also got delayed today, because I wasn't supposed to have water.  They've been doing a ton of work on the waterlines near our house lately.  This morning,  they put a note on our door saying our water would be turned off from 10-3.  I'm fairly certain that they never turned our water off, since it was on every time I used it.  However, I knew that the minute I would get in the shower and lather up, they'd surely turn it off.  So, I sat around in my stink all day until 3 when I knew I'd be in the clear.

3.  Since I'm on the subject of not showering ... Friday morning, I ran for 40 minutes, came home and changed into dry clothes and was off and out to breakfast with John.  When we got back, he gave be a big hug and lovingly said, "You smell like sweat, deodorant and Waffle Shop."  Now, that's love.

4.  We went to trivia tonight and kicked ass, taking first place!

5.  John is trying to watch High Stakes Poker on Tivo (lame, I know).  Unfortunately for him, every time he presses play, he gets about 2 minutes of HSP and then it turns to Law & Order: SVU.  I can't help it!  It's always recording HSP when he's not here, so I want to watch my shows.  Oopsie!  He's a good sport about it, though.

I have so much more to say this week.  Hopefully, I will have the opportunity tomorrow.
How was your Monday?

  1. Love the decorating.

We've lived in our house for 8/9 years and we still haven't renovated nearly enough.

  3. That is the coolest idea with the photos of you guys above your bed. We currently have a painting we did together (with matching handprints and all) above our bed. :)

WOO! I love quiz nights. Haven't been to one in the longest time... I love getting random people together that specialise in a subject. Even though I'm only 18, I'm normally our go to music gal :D

My Monday was the best Monday ever. If you wanna know about it I have a huge blog entry :p

I can't wait to hear more of what you have to say. As much as I love your outfits, these rambles are my fave posts. I can't get enough!

  4. Your colors are great, love them and he picture idea is so unique. I have an antique cross over my bed, I am always afraid I am going to be impaled on it---hmmmm-what would that say about me?

  9. Man, it is really difficult to get back on the home decorating horse once the initial excitement has passed. My sweetie and I always get pretty quickly exhausted after even thinking about a home project!

Also, you know it's true love when your mate loves the smell of your sweat. Definitely.

  11. Okay, first of all, the bedroom decor is freakin GORGEOUS! Love the pattern mixing! Second SVU rocks, even knowing that half of what they say about the "law" or criminal procedure is untrue...that's when you know it's good :) Third, yes, watching poker is completely lame. Sorry Kyla's hubby!
