YOU'RE A WHOLE LOTTA LOOK

4-27-10 1

John called this a "whole lotta look."  To which, I responded, "You're a whole lotta look."  It's a pretty routine retort around here.  And once in a while, you get a real doozy - like the time he was complaining that he couldn't move the coffee table because it was "all full of shit."  To which I eagerly replied, "You're all full of shit."  Oh, the things I do to amuse myself...  Ahem.

Anyway, I stand by my "whole lotta look."  We've got a couple of cool spring days before the sun and warmth plan on coming back.  What better way to keep it springy and keep me warm than a maxi skirt and fancy(ish) scarf?

You can see how windy it was.

What's your go to look for a chilly spring day when your winter duds are packed away?

  1. I love this! Especially the jacket. Oh, and I am relieved another couple is as adult as we are - we're fond of the "your face" retort. As in, "This show sucks!" "Your FACE sucks!" and on and on and on. Ah, marriage.

  2. I love this! The scarf really ties it all together!

I busted the tights back out today and trenched up.

  3. I'm alright with my guy questioning my fashion, so long as he always quotes Tim Gunn.

  5. So phenomenal. I'm now COMPLETELY inspired to bust out my maxi dress and wear it as a skirt this weekend. And the color palette is DIVINE.

  11. I love this whole lotta look. Great colours together.

I am totally in that retort cycle right now.

    "Where's the mayonnaise?"
    "You're the mayonnaise."

    Haha, so mature. It's great.

  12. So funny! It's a weekly occurrence around here that my boyfriend looks me up and down and gives me the old "that's interesting". Translation: weird. Haha. I'm so glad I have the blogging world and my own sense of self esteem to support my fashion choices. haha.

  14. Yes! This is soo pretty. I always dig the soft colors on you, but the soft fabrics are just too much. In a good way. It's perfect.

  20. Ha ha - those are the exact retorts my husband and I use. Ok, I use them with everyone.

I am seriously crushing on this look. Especially the skirt! I have jumped on the maxi skirt bandwagon and NEED to find one exactly that color and softness of yours. Better yet, how 'bout just handing yours over to save me the trouble, eh? ;)

  21. Firstly, i'm totally loving this look! And secondly, it's freakish how similar your convos with your hubby are to mine with my hubby... some sort of a "you are" retort is pretty common in our house!

  27. That IS a whole lotta look! Lovely colors.

I'm a big fan of the trench for these windy/chilly but not winter days. Chicago is totally unreliable in terms of warmth adn the trench is the perfect thing to throw over most outfits to keep me cozy. And, of course, a scarf. Who doesn't love a scarf, particularly one like yours here? Only silly people!

  30. I LOVE this look! And really love that skirt! Did you get it recently from Target or is it from a while ago? Just curious whether I should bother looking for it :)

  31. HAHAHA! CJ and I do the EXACT same thing (retorts I mean). And you look chic and comfortable. A combo that is quite hard to put together.
