RAINY DAY REINCARNATION

4-26-10 1

You may remember many of these pieces from Thursday's outfit.  I think it's fun to take the same pieces and transform them into a similar outfit for a different occasion.

I'm so ready for the sun to come back again.  Only a few days ...

I totally wimped out this morning and decided not to run in the rain.  It can be fun, but you really have to be in the mood, and today, I was not.  So, instead, I ventured out to Target a finally invest $8.50 in Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred.  You know I sing the praises of this workout quite often and for good reason.  The last few months, only the Level 1 workout has been available on OnDemand.  I was getting a little bored with it (and it was getting a little to easy), so I was looking forward to doing Level 2 again.  Well, I spent 20 minutes this afternoon getting my ass handed to me.  Hurts so good.

The worse part is that while I'm down on the floor doing crazy plank-jump-squat things and push-ups, dripping with sweat, using every ounce of will power I can muster - Iggy wanders over and proceeds to lick my arms.  Incessantly.  Every time.  I'm pretty sure he knows when he has a cptive audience and takes full advantage.  Ridiculousness. THEN, while I'm doing ab stuff, he brings his toys over for me to throw.  So, my workout becomes "up, down, pick-up, throw ... up, down, pick-up throw ... repeat ..."

  1. Flip flops in the rain? Brave woman! I wore peep-toes today and whimpered every time cold, dirty water touched my bare toes. :) Life as a whiny college student is soo hard. :p

  2. you find the most amazing stuff at JCP. I always have trouble finding stuff.

Love the simplicity of this look, but funness of it with the sash and green flip flops (which I have as well)

  3. Love this reincarnation of last week's outfit. It's such a sweet look! The flare of the pants gives it a bit of drama, and that's never a bad thing.

  4. That scarf is too cute - perfect with the black and stripes!

And my cats ALWAYS help me when I do my physical therapy at night. They feel it's important to constantly check on me ... hilarious.

  5. Ha! Scruffy does the same thing to me when I try to do pilates or something.

I may need to try the 30 day shred again. I started to do it once, but got distracted. (it doesn't take much for me to get distracted from exercise!)

    great outfit today! very cute.

and Iggy is a cutie- what kind of dog is he?

  6. Yes, yes, YES! The belt sash thing totally takes this from great to FABULOUS (to be yelled in an Oprah voice)! Perfect for a rainy day.

  7. I love the sash as a belt here! Love it!

Bailey loves to lick me after I come in from a run. I think she just likes the salt....

  9. Ha, my dog does the very same thing! As soon as I get down on the floor to do pushups or sit-ups, I think he must think I'm playing and insists on licking me, crawling under me, etc. :) Love this outfit btw. Those pants are perfection on you and love the scarf as belt.

  10. I LOVE those workouts as well but have also been frustrated that only level one has been available. I suppose I should do what you've done and just go buy the damn thing on dvd. But she really does know how to make the body feel the best kind of pain and its so worth it if it makes you feel good about yourself.

As always you look lovely :)

  11. This top is really great! And I've started doing The Biggest Loser workout video. It kicks my ass repeatedly. Whats worse is there are these pretty big people just trucking along in the video and Im panting like a puppy. Its rather sad.

  14. Love those pants - you've inspired me to get some wide legged linen pants for the summer. Can't wait to wear them.

  15. Love this outfit. Your flippers match the hints of grass peeking through your fence. Lola does the exact same thing. But not to me. I don't sweat enough for her liking. She ravages my husband when he comes in from a run. And he's too whipped to stop her. hehe... dogs. They're funny.

  18. LOL @ Iggy during your workout. I can imagine it. My cats pay no attention tome of a morning after they are fed... unless I'm doing sit ups with the wii fit - then they need attention. :p

Love your oufit. Love how you added the sash! :)

  19. I love the way you tied that scarf - such a simple and effective way to punch up a pair of slacks.

  20. Lovely ensemble! I also love what you did with the sash - it really brings everything together.

And it brings to my mind other belts like the arrow sashes from Québec, which I've always admired. You've actually inspired me to figure out a way to make a sash work in the context of men's fashions. So, yay and thanks for the inspiration!
