PEST CONTROL

They were spraying our condos for nasty spring insects today, so I couldn't safely take photos in my normal locales.  Instead, I had to go out by the main road.  Due to random passerby, I am not looking at the camera in many of the shots.  I guess I thought if I ignored it, that no one would notice what I was doing.  As though to say, "No, that's not my camera.  It was here when I got here."

Well played, I know.

I made this dress about 3 years and 35 pounds ago.  I haven't worn it for quite some time, since it's a bit on the big side.  Nothing a cardigan and belt can't remedy, though!  I definitely need to get around to taking in the seams, so I can wear it this summer.  I had forgotten how much I love it!

Check out my left wrist!  I made it a mini mission last month to find an armful of clear bangles.  Not as easy as one may think!  I had no luck for a while and then I found 3 within a week!  One at a local vintage shop where I had credit and a set of three at Plato's Closet (which ironically, still had the price tag on them from the vintage shop where I got the first one).  Anyway, I'd still like to find more, but I'm well on my way!

Okay, I have to go to the dreaded supermarket now.  Wish me luck...

  6. I adore this Kyla! What a great way to work in a low dress for the spring! I'm gonna pull some out of the closet tonight and see what I can do with them.

Also, have you ever done a post on your weight loss? I would be interested in knowing what you did, your beginning size and ending size...how long have you kept it off...basically, I want to know your business! LOL

I've recently made changes to my eating and excercise routine (cough, couch...what routine) and love to be inspired by people I know... (you are my friend in my head:)

  14. Love this. Especially clear bangles. I don't think I've ever seen one anywhere and already I love them.

Haha. I'm going to try that camera game. I usually play "Oh don't mind me, I'm just taking pictures of the landscape. I only stepped in front of the camera to test it out. And then posed..."

  20. Love the dress! So impressive that you made it yourself. Also, you really can't tell it's too big at all, so kudos on the belt/cardigan solution.

  21. This is INSANELY chic. You're killin me!

Oh, and I totally do the whole don't-look-at-the-camera thing when I'm in public, which is totally ridiculous. I have yet to have anyone ask me what I'm doing, so I'm assuming they all just know that I'm a mad stylish model....or something like that. :)

  26. OH MY GOD am I in love with this dress. I so want a striped maxi. I have a vertical (and probably way too colorful one) in the works that I started and gave up on last year. You've inspired me to finish it off...
