LITLLE MISS CRAZY PANTS

4-19-10 1

One thing in particular (there are many) I love about blogging and reading blogs is the heightened confidence I have to try new things.  I've worn things in the last couple of months that I never in a million years thought I would ever wear.  And love no less!  These pants are a perfect case in point.

I found these at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago and just couldn't pass them up.  I really love the feeling of stepping outside my comfort zone.  Nine times out of ten, it's totally worth it.  This is one of those times.

I realize this look is not for everyone, but I think that's why I like it so much.  It feels like me and my style and I know that no one else in town will be wearing a pair of these bad boys.

I will admit, they are quite challenging to style.  So, I just kept with what I do best: t-shirt, blazer and flats.

What's the craziest style risk you've taken?

  1. wow! I have never seen hammer pants in current trend rocked so hard! for reals. um, and your hair looks awesome.

my craziest style risk (in recent times) would probably be wearing 3 different plaids at once. in undergrad (the early 2000s), i used to like wearing this tonal vine print silk skirt with bleach/blasted denim underneath. :P

  2. I am completely freaked out by how DYNAMITE those pants are on you! The way you styled them is great, they're all statement all on their own, so simple with the rest of the outfit is best.

Also, that last picture in the post made me snort.

  7. Haha! Love it! Especially that last shot. I was so tempted to buy a pair of these in purple when my friends got some from a hippie-like shop 2 years ago. I just wore theirs until we had worn them out. Haha

I don't really have an crazy style risks. I have a lot of things I wanna try but can't because I'm nowhere near shops to try things on :( Haha

Story of my life. You look awesome. Love your backyard?

  8. You are able to pull off the coolest things! You are rockin' these pants, lady!

I know what you mean about blogging making items seem totally cool and normal. I feel like I've been exposed to so many different styles in the last year, that some trends (harem pants, rompers, overalls) look so darn wearable and awesome.

  10. Isn't it crazy that having people watching us (via the blog) makes us brave? I'm exactly the same. I even thought it with today's outfit which I'll post tonight.

I think these pants are great and I can imagine them done well with a tunic/dress.

  11. You make those look sooo GOOD! And my biggest fashion risk as of late was wearing 2 different plaids- in tights and in a tunic. Daring, I know :)

  12. You are amazing!! I seriously commend your bravery for rocking these! While personally, I don't think I would try such loose harem pants because I normally don't find them very flattering, I totally love how you balanced out the loose pants with the structured blazer! You're pretty much a genius, just so you know. :)

  14. I love that about blogging too! It has definitely made me step out of my comfort zone.

Pairing the pants with the fitted blazer is perfect, and those sandals look like they were made for those pants!

  15. I love that you are brave enough to try those pants, and you pull them off so well!

Probably mixing patterns is the bravest thing I've ever tried. I feel that since I've begun blogging though I'd be more open to trying crazier stuff.

  16. When I first looked at this I sorta went "ummm... what?" and then as I looked more at the pictures I surprised myself with how much I think these work on you. I agree, this style isn't for everyone, but it's cool that you took a risk.

  21. I think you are the only person that can pull those pants off and I love how they make a statement of your personal style! I love everything else about the outfit and your hair looks fabulous - love the curls!

  22. You look great! i am not, and definitely not a high risk taker, i care too much (i guess) about how crazy my husband is going to think that i am lol.

The style totally suits you, and what also suits you is taking high risks, because you are confident on how you look and feel good in what you wear, you can tell by the look in your face, you always look happy and give that sense of "there is always something fresh in the air" when people look at you. I think i would be too afraid to step out of my own box and wear something like this. It looks SO good on you! it really does. I love your sandals too, the color, just lovely!

  25. I.am.obsessed. These pants are a dream! I once owned their twin, but in silk and for way too much money, so I returned them. Seeing this, I'm very sad and envious. You look totally rad, and the blazer is such a great touch. Totally classes it up.
