RAMBLINGS OF A MONDAY AFTERNOON

I feel like I've been rambling all day, but here's a little more:

1.  I had such a nice and relaxing weekend.  I even got to sleep in a little on Saturday since my morning meeting was canceled due to the weather.  The rest was just low key and productive.  That's the best kind of weekend in my book.  And, of course, it ended with the best shoe purchase in the history of shoe purchases, so that helped.

2.  I cleaned our hardwood floors this morning.  Sounds kind of gross, but I rarely clean them.  This is for two reasons: a.) water is bad for hardwood floors, so I avoid it and b.) I'm extremely cautious with household cleaners, especially floor cleaners, because of our little four-legged friend.  I'd rather have a dirty floor than a sick puppy.  But today, I think I found the perfect solution - a microfiber dry mop and Method hardwood floor cleaner.

3.  I totally ate an M&M off the floor today.  And not the floor that I cleaned.  It was ridiculous.  I was by myself and it had gotten caught in my scarf earlier, so when I took my scarf off, it fell out.  I didn't even think - I just ate it.  And now I'm actually a little embarrassed for admitting it.  Hmm...

4.  I'm not a big football fan, but I worked on my computer while John watched the game last night.  I did, however, perk up a bit to watch the halftime show.  Did anyone else feel bad for the "The Who?"  That was a little rough.  If they weren't make a butt load of money to be there, I would've felt really bad for them.  I think it's safe to say that that ship has sailed.

5  I have been really, really bad at acknowledging blog awards lately.  I am very sorry about that.  Thank you so much for all of you who have recognized me.  I will be going through them and posting a proper thank you for each.  Until then, know I love you :)

  1. you are too funny!
by the way- i heard the who(or any band that plays the super bowl) don't make any money for performing. i guess they figure that 2 billion people watching is anough commision??? i thought that was odd- i would have thought they would at least make somthing

  2. I have totally done the M&M thing before. I also once ate a piece of popcorn I found that I had dropped down my shirt in a dark movie theater. Just typing that made me blush.

On the awards note - I gave you one on my blog http://knitteachride.blogspot.com

While I may be a new reader, I've really enjoyed your blog and felt that it's worthy of an award.

  3. Hey Kyla,
If you're worried about floor cleaner, we have polished wood floors at home and my mum just cleans them with hot water and white vinegar. you have to go through after with a towel and dry the floor off, but it doesn't take long, and the hot water evaporates fairly quickly so there's not much drying to be done. Just thought I'd chip in my 2 cents

love your blog by the way, you're always so positive and happy =)

  4. Loved reading this. And the weird thing about The Who is that I saw them live just over a year ago and they were AMAZING! Seriously, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Last night was really disappointing :(

And I would have thought less of you if that M&M had gone to waste!

  6. i can appreciate you eating an M&M off the floor. when i was a little tyke, i ate a smashed skittle off the ground and it still tasted good. i'm sure most people have done it too but are just afraid to admit it

also, I didn't see the half time show, but I'm kind of sad the Who weren't good. they used to be so cool.

  10. That's why the 5 second rule was created so don't feel guilty about eating the m&m off the floor. :)

  11. Hahahah!! Hey if it was an M&M I probably would've done it too!

  12. #2. When I sweep the floor, it counts as cleaning...no?
#3. Don't let chocolate go to waste...nice save.

  13. Seriously...the m&m off the floor...hilarious! I might be guilty of that from time to time! LOL

And the Who performance...I'm still puzzled by the whole thing.

  14. No worries, the 5 second rule applies for that M&M. :)

And The Who. Ohhhh, The Who. I felt like I was watching the talent show of a retirement home. How sad. :/

  15. At least an m&m has a hard candy shell to protect it. I've eaten far worse things off the floor. Now you have me feeling guilty for not cleaning my floors!

I felt pity for The Who but also rage at the entire Timberlake/Jackson debacle. They are the reason why all of the Superbowl performers over the past four years have been older past their prime rockers. If it weren't for that incident the halftime show probably would have been Black Eyed Peas, Rhianna, or Lady GaGa!

  16. You're right about Pete and Roger. They're at the end of their time as rockers.

It's sad to see people past their prime. I saw Johnny Winter play when he was blind and unable to walk; it was a crime to put him on stage.
