RAMBLINGS OF A MONDAY AFTERNOON

First Monday of the new year!  Here we go!

1.  Iggy got his hair cut and looks very handsome.  Apparently, that is all he has the energy for today, because he has been curled up, sleeping on the couch since we got home 2 hours ago.  Such a tough life.

2.  After my minor New Year's Eve meltdown, I'm hella excited about the new year.  I'm feeling super motivated and have some clear cut goals in mind.  Now, I just have to make them happen!

3.  I spent a lovely afternoon with friends and family yesterday over a yummy Mexican spread of fajitas, tacos and sopapillas.  Good stuff.

4.  My little brother leaves for basic training tomorrow.  In the true follow-your-heart spirit of my family, he's decided that he wouldn't feel complete until he answered this calling.  He's quite accomplished already as a college grad and environmental engineer and now, he's a proud member of the Army Reserve.  And I'm a very proud big sister.  It's going to be weeks and months before I see him again, but I know it's going to be great.  Love you, buddy!

5.  I've got a big list of things to get done today, so I better wrap this up!  If it weren't for my lists, my days would just disappear into a non-productive void.  So, gotta go!

  1. My sister left for basic training 2 years ago just before Thanksgiving which mean we missed her for the whole holiday season. Having a sibling in the military can be hard, but it's such a special thing at the same time. Your so proud of them and are glad they are doing what they do, but secretly wish they could come home on weekends! Thank you to your brother for serving, and welcome to the 'I have a sibling in the Military' family!

  3. I feel the exact same way about lists. If I didn't have ones laying around all the time I don't think I'd get anything done.

  6. Re #2. Can you come over and help me make up some clear cut goals? Sometimes they get all muddled and then nothing gets accomplished.
