HAPPY NEW YEAR!

12-31-09 1

Hope you all had a fantastic New Years Eve.  I'm never really a big fan of the night myself.  Too much pressure.  And it never lives up to expectations.  So, these days, I have no expectations and just try to enjoy the company.

My day was pretty shitastic, anyway.  But, I'm better now.  No worries.  Just the bi-annual meltdown.  We all have those sometimes.  Of course, it gobbled up a good portion of my day, I ended up changing up all of our plans in favor of just stopping and decompressing for a little before meeting up with friends for a very low key NYE.  We were in the car on our way home at 12:33.  Party.  Animals.

I did, however, run the local 5K Resolution Run, which always pulls me out of the dumps.  There's usually over 600 people who run.  It's a lot of fun.  My time was not very good, but I can't remember the last time I actually ran 3 miles, since I've been taking it so easy on my back.  And I did manage to run every step, despite the horrible cramps I got right around mile 2.  So, here's to a healthier, even more active 2010!

And a big thanks to Erin who gave me this dress at the Weardrobe Conference clothing swap.  It's reserved for the nights when I feel most confident about myself and/or my body, like on my birthday or say, after running a 5k.  There's not a whole lot of use for a tight mini LBD in my life, so I try to bust it out whenever I can.  I kind of love it.  Thanks, Erin!

Happy New Year, guys!  And thanks for making 2009 a great year for BCC!
Now, go eat your pork and sauerkraut!

P.S.  I think it's awesome that I match Iggy's food dish and, incidentally, my new Snuggie (not shown in photo)!

  1. Please believe me when I say that you look hot! I love the boot snd the tights. Most people would have worn black shoes...you pulled this off fabulously.

  5. We did the same thing. Rang in the new year and 1/2 hour later were heading home. I feel the same way about new years, it's overrated to me. I hope you have a great year!

  7. I am in love with your tights. I love leopard in small doses unlike my mom who has every surface covered in animal print.

Love the outfit and you look great.
    Totally agree about NYE.

    Thanks for the post!

  16. Happy 2010! You look gorgeous, Missy! That LBD suits you well. Congrats on the fun run. I am recovering from a mega wine hangover today, so I am pretty much doing nothing active, LOL.

  18. Yay! Way cute! I wore an animal print as well, but in a dress. I think that black dress is better!

Anyways, I'm with you on NYE, just not my favorite. However, as I've gotten older I really don't worry about it. I don't set resolutions, because they rarely work. Yet, I do set goals because I do pretty good with goals. Just a simple change of language, and it pretty much turns the idea around.

Also, this is pretty right on about the topic:
