MY FAVORITE

I recently read a blogger interview somewhere where the question "What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe?" popped up and I thought...nothing. I didn't think I could answer this question. I have a pretty transient wardrobe and a very fickle brain that likes one thing one minute and another the next.

Then, I got dressed this morning. This jean jacket just may be that favorite piece. It's nothing fancy. Just a well-worn vintage Wrangler jean jacket. But it is something special. It was my mom's when she was in high school and I've been wearing it since I was in 8th grade! I was even squeezing into it when I couldn't button it. Or lift my arms for that matter. But it fits like a gem again and it's sooooo soft and perfectly broken in and looks great with almost EVERYTHING! Ahhh, the good stuff...

Onto the rest, now. I'm so in love with my outfit today. I think it's pretty kick ass if I do say so myself :) The white tee is from Target's sleep section ($6) paired with a Target maxi skirt ($20) and finished with my bronze gladiator-thongy sandals (Ross, $11 or $12?). I think the skirt is "meant" to fold over at the waistband, but I prefer it this way. I have a ton of summer plans for this baby.

The whole look gets some edge with the layered necklaces. The flower necklace was bought from NY&Co online a while back. It was on clearance for like $8 and made it so that I got free shipping. I'm sneaky like that :) And the awesome fringe necklace is a DIY inspired by many a fashion blogger. Even the rain couldn't bum me out today.

  15. Kyla, I wore that jean jacket through high school. Keep in mind that was in the mid 70s. That jacket saw a lot of parties and rock concerts!!!!

Sher, you got me thinking and I do wish that jacket could talk. There were a lot of laughs and wildness. That was before 'Girls Gone Wild' and without baring our breasts!

My favorite outfit was that jacket paired with a maxi jean skirt that I made out of a pair of jeans. I opened the inner seam, laid the crotch over to lay flat and filled in the front and back triangle with a patchwork of hippy art. It was an attention getter and I got raves from complete strangers whenever I wore it. I also got some looks from older people who just didn't get it. hahaha

Thanks for getting me to reminisce. Sigh....... :)
