HELLO, TOES!

3-19-10 1

Would spring be so glorious without winter?  Today was the warmest day of the year so far, and you could tell.  Everyone was happy and out and about and active and just soaking it all up.

But I often wonder if this time of year would be so invigorating if it weren't for the long, cold winter.

3-19-10 5

If you've been reading this little project for a while now, then you're familiar with my warm weather style - easy and breezy.  And that all starts today.

3-19-10 3

Another pair of thrifted pants.  I don't know what drew me to these, but I love their slouchy, yet crisp feeling.  In the future, I will be sure to pair them with blazers, tanks, lots of jewelry and a great fedora.  Not all at once, of course.  (Can you tell Iggy is growling at a dog in the above photo?)

3-19-10 4

Even Iggy got to get out of the house for the day.  He got to go to appointments, visit John at work and pop in on a friend and her baby.  He's the best, best buddy a girl could have.  Needless to say, after all that action, he completely conked in the car on the way home.  It was so nice, I took the long way home, through the pretty houses, with the sunroof open and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in the speakers.  Another perfect day.

THREE (plus five) FOR THURSDAY

I just got this dress in September and it's already seen a lot of wear -
I so cannot wait to remix it this summer!

PJ PLAY

3-18-10 1

Holy. Gorgeous. Day.  How amazing are the colors in these pictures?!

3-18-10 2

And how amazing are these pants?!  You can't quite see the print, but they're sage green with a beige bamboo/ivy print in the weave.  Or in John's words ... "they're stained all over." (insert puzzled look here)
Oh, honey ...

3-18-10 3

They are one of my thrifted finds from Monday and I'm. In. Love.  Aside from literally wearing my PJ's to work, this is the next best thing.  At $7, they were even a bit of a Goodwill splurge, but totally worth it.  (Yeah, I'm that cheap.)

Lots of photos today - can you tell I was having fun?

My brother graduated from Basic Training this morning!  So ... hip, hip hooray!
I'm so proud of you, Bryce!

GREEN PIECE

3-17-10 1

If I wear this jacket no other day than St. Patrick's Day, I still feel like I'm getting my money's worth.  Isn't it the most perfect springtime topper?

3-17-10 2

Granted, it's missing a button (well, it's not missing - it's on my dresser), but it's so swingy and fun.

3-17-10 3

Did ya'll notice I cut my bangs again?  Some of you asked if I was growing them out. I kind of was, but more out of laziness than anything else.  I still love them pinned back when I pull my hair up, but when my hair is down and straight, I need the bangs - I forgot how weird I look without them.  That is, of course, until I did my hair yesterday morning, which prompted me to go straight to the bathroom and start cutting.  It was a really rash decision, but I think it ended up for the better.

And this is how I feel about spring:

BLUE SHOES

3-16-10 1

It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood, folks!

3-16-10 2

The sun feels so good after a long winter.

3-16-10 3

And the longer days?  Holla!

3-16-10 4

Not quite ready for bare legs yet and for the first year EVER, I'm not sick of tights!  Today, I was up, down and all around - enjoying this gorgeous weather every step of the way!

BLUE COLLAR CLOSET UPDATE

Just a quick note to let you know that I added some more items to Blue Collar Closet.  I've loved them all, but it's time for someone else to enjoy them!

DOWNTOWN GIRL

3-15-10 1

I just need to reiterate: How have I survived this long without a basic trench?

3-15-10 2

It's the perfect accessory to pull together a simple, run-around-town look.

3-15-10 3

Admittedly, I had cropped leggings on this morning, but decided that I was in desperate need of a longer pair - preferably with studs.  This is ultimately what prompted my Target excursion today.  And, of course, score!  But I did pay full price for them - what a loser ...

3-15-10 4

So, if you're gonna pay full price, you better wear 'em right away!  I completely fell in love with the zippers.  I love how it angles the cuff - slightly more flattering to my leg line.

Of course tonight I'll have to change into something a bit more work appropriate, but this was great for my morning of leisure.
