Meet one of my new favorite skirts, rescued from the graveyard of denim micro-minis that is Plato's Closet. I love her. She makes me feel quite fashion forward in that almost inappropriate-for-day-wear kind of way. I actually felt a little Carrie Bradshaw in this combination. And also a little like a 4-year old ...
I went out for breakfast with a friend and saw a little girl about 4 years old walk in with a dress up tutu-type skirt over her tee and shorts. I looked down at my own outfit and couldn't help to giggle at the similarities.
I feel ya, little one. I feel ya.

Is it itchy?
ReplyDeleteI find that skirt perfectly acceptable for day wear. ;-) At $7 I would wear it with pride.

I think it's the first time I comment after reading your blog for ages. I love this, but I think the whole ensemble would have looked more polished with the vest buttoned down. You have great abs, but it doesn't quite work - for me - with these two last buttons open. The sandals are informal enough to break the skirt's inappropriatenes-for-day-wear kind of way...
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is awesome! I think everyone needs a skirt that makes them feel like Carrie Bradshaw and a 4 year old. Great find.
ReplyDeleteMan you're so cool.
ReplyDeleteYou look so damn cute. I love the mix of denim with black

I love, love, love the adult tutu with the denim vest. Very edgy and cool.
ReplyDeleteThe one shot of you sitting down is darn adorable. I love the tutu and you look like you felt like a happy kid wearing it!
ReplyDeletethe pairing of the edgy vest and the flirty/girly skirt is amazing! I would be scared to rock a tutu in public, but you pulled it off superbly!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful skirt!
ReplyDeletecool find.
i love this outfit to death. I've been wanting a tutu and a denim vest and this outfit makes me extremely envious :P and you do look carrie bradshaw-esque which is undoubtedly a good thing :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of agree with R - the outfit would get just a little more polished with all the buttons done up. I'm pretty biased, though - lately I've been on a total Audrey kick and am obsessing over that silhouette of poofy skirt and fitted waist that she did so well - it just looks so classy! At any rate, it's a great skirt - total wardrobe lust! ;D
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!!
ReplyDeleteOh OH that skirt is fantastic. Very Bradshaw... good call.
ReplyDeleteDangit you're adorable. This is SO Kyla.
ReplyDeleteUm yeah, this is AWESOME! I LOVETH the contrast of the vest with the frilly skirt.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am just loving that skirt WAY too much!! Adorable outfit!!

ReplyDeleteLove the skirt and love the pairing with the denim and sandals! (though I would button instead of baring stomach...)
