I often get asked how I take my daily photos. While my husband helps me out once in a while, 95% of the time, I take my own photos. To be honest, I kind of prefer it. I love having all the creative control. I even shot this video by myself!
I generally take 20-50 photos each day. That sounds like a lot, but it's really not. One of the reasons I love using a Canon is because its self-timer has a 10-frame option. That basically means that I get 10 continuous shots each time I press the shutter release. It also has a face recognition timer, so when you see me bend over, it's because I'm trying to get the camera to pick up my face in order to set off the timer. Groovy, no?
Hope you enjoy my little piece of daily self-indulgence!

Please disregard the tissue in my hand. In an attempt to scrounge up enough batteries to fuel 2 cameras at once, I somehow managed to cut my thumb, and it was a bleeder.
love the video! your pics always turn out great! what type of Canon do you have?
ReplyDeleteHilarious, super adorable, and so fun! Thanks for posting this! The outfit is fab.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, such a cute video!
ReplyDeleteThis video is so cute, Kyla! I actually love your bending over face recognition shots. I really have to figure out how to get my self-timer to do multiple shots at a time. Right now I have to reset between each shot!

Ahhh, I love this! I think it's so cool to see behind the scenes of how we style bloggers take pictures. I, like you, take all my own pictures with the timer/tripod combo.
ReplyDeleteHa, LOVE that video!! My fiance always takes my pictures but because he's not always available, etc I've been thinking about attempting to take my own photos. Anyway, you do an awesome job - so great to see the "behind-the-scenes" :)

This is great! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you just convinced me to get a Canon camera...because my cam only takes one pic self timed pic every two or ten seconds...Imagine how annoying that is!
ReplyDeleteWhat are the specifical details of your cam so I can start comparing prices:)
Your video is adorable! I just received a Canon with the same option for my Bday. Got to love it!
ReplyDeleteToo cute. I loved that outfit! Hope the thumb is better.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun video. I thought I was fortunate to have a camera with a 10s + 2s timer. I'm totally jealous of your 10 shots!

ReplyDeleteAwww, that is one of the cutest blogger videos I have seen! You are soo friggen adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us a peek into what it's like!!
Kyla, this is so awesome!! It makes me all excited to take my pictures today. I do basically the exact same thing with mine, only I don't have a standing tripod, just a gorillapod that I awkwardly attach to my staircase or something. This is so fun, and so awesome, and it makes me love my internet bff even more!
ReplyDeleteso cute! I love the song, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat video!
ReplyDeleteI also use a Canon and I love the continuous shoot timer, it's a time saver when I'm trying to shoot outfit pictures.

ReplyDeleteadorable that you would show this behind the scenes, I might be a bit embarrassed with my hand on hip changes and feet shuffling lol! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, that's about it! Does your husband ever peek a head out of a door or something, giving you silly/anger face?
