Wearing the same dress as yesterday. Again. Rinse and repeat seems to be the theme this week.
I'm sometimes amazed at the spectrum of my style. Most of my outfits this week were much sleeker and more buttoned up. This is not. This is about as country girl as it comes.
I got some snail mail today! It's such a lost art and I can't believe how big I smile when I get a hand-written letter. I've even tried to get a little better at it myself. It's really helped that my brother is at Basics right now, so we've been writing each other. And then today, I got a letter from my aunt. I just love it! And must take time this weekend to reciprocate.
Even better, though? Packages in the mail! I'm sending a bunch out today and am expecting some of my own very soon. I'll keep you posted!
(This is almost scandalous - damn wind! This is why real ladies where slips!)

soooo adorable!!! love this look~ sooo glad spring is finally here!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! This is a great Friday outfit.
ReplyDeleteMy shirts always look weird when I tie them in a knot. I need to practice. :P
So pretty!! I just love that dress and it looks so cute paired with the pink shirt!
ReplyDeleteYou look freakin adorable! And so skinny...I am extremly envious.
ReplyDeletethis is so lovely! i have been admiring this dress of yours--i love its tiny floral pattern and it is darling with the button up and hat.
ReplyDeleteYou are so nice, also with the same dress as yesterday!! I like this interpretation ;)
ReplyDeletelove the double layered socks! And the rest too!
ReplyDeletePS you look awesome in hats. It must be your cute dimples, the hat really makes them pop!
You are the CUTEST!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is just so european/1940s to me... I imagine you're on your way for a picnic in the English countryside with your beau! Love it... especially the socks :)
ReplyDeleteThis is why you always amaze me. You styled this so differently with the feminine top and hat that I never would have guessed it was the same dress you toughened up with your husband's shirt. Rock it girl.
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand the excitement of a hand written letter arriving in the mail. My brother is in basic training at the moment, too, and writing letters is the only way we have to keep in touch. I also spent two and a half years in Africa with little chance to connect with people at home other than through the mail. Letter writing really IS a lost art! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI also love this outfit. It's so springy and happy! And the touch of the knee socks gives it such a fun, "keep me from freezing!" twist.
i absolutely adore you! i too LOVE getting real letters, and abhor the wind ! Real ladies, hmmm.... do they still exist ;) !
ReplyDeleteLight pink!!! Oh Kyla, I've been dying to incorporate some light pink into my outfits lately, and now that I see you rocking it... well, it's official, I'm going to have to! You look so stinkin' adorable in this flowered dress & thigh high socks combo. Precious! Thanks to this outfit, I'm officially dying for spring.
ReplyDeleteI love that floral dress! You styled it beautifully.
ReplyDeleteIt's been ages since I last received snail mail. I travelled a few years ago, and I still have all the letters my family sent me then.
Actually, with the hat, it doesn't look country girl at all, it reads more like an outfit from the late 30s early 40s. Super cute!!
ReplyDeleteMore like chic vintage my dear. :-)
nothing says spring like florals and a straw fedora! i love it!
ReplyDeleteI. Love. Your. Hat!
ReplyDeletePacsun ship to Aus or what? :)
You look great Kyla. I loce the addition of the tied shirt - wonderful way to make the dress a little warmer without taking away from the free feeling.
You look amazing!
Love the floral dress!! I love it both with the pink and green tops.
ReplyDeleteYou look so great!
Oh this is everything that I love. Knee high socks, slips, floral dress, hat, the shirt.
ReplyDeleteYou're ticking all the boxes here sister!
Also, I am the queen of snail mail. I send 2-3 letters/cards a week on average. It's such a beautiful form of communication that is sadly being lost in our digital age. But not on my watch!
This is a great outfit =)
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep a button up tied all day? Whenever I try it, it pouches just above the knot, and then the knot comes loose and looks messy and silly...
YOu look great! I love how you remix items...and I love that you repeat your clothes! I do too!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the bloglove in the recent post today:)
Love those thigh highs, and you have the CUTEST little smile. You look like Jennifer Garner! I bet you get that all the time, huh?
ReplyDeletexx
for some reason I just love how you said "I'm sometimes amazed at the spectrum of my style." it sounds like you have so much fun with your clothes. :o)
ReplyDeleteand I love your hat!
very cute outfit :)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so cute. I think a side by side between this day and the day before is in order. The outfit is essentially the same, but the mood and effect is drastically different. And what is it about spring that makes a straw fedora so desperately essential?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link shout out, Sweetie! You made my morning.
I love how that dress looks so different each day. The pink makes it so springy while the olive grounded it. Your style and range in your style always amazes me!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. I think the hat really pulls it all together.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and girly and wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! One if my favorite outfits ever! So simple, so romantic, so chic!
ReplyDeleteThis looks beautiful! I have such a hard time incorporating knee high socks, you styling looks effortless
ReplyDeleteAww this is so lovely and summery! the tied shirt and hat are such cute details.
ReplyDeleteps: thanks for including me above!
I love the hat with this! You look so cute and springy!
ReplyDeleteWe all love receiving actual mail. I've found a way to encourage that is to SEND letters! It's fun to both give and receive.
ReplyDeleteThe thigh-highs really make this outfit stylish.
EEek! I love your hat! I have been looking for one like that for some time! Nice blog :D
ReplyDeleteHope that I'll make it to your blog reads' list. :D

Yay for over-the-knee socks! The hat and the ditzy floral print of the dress reminds me of Anne of Green Gables, love it!!
ReplyDeleteKEY-UTE!~
ReplyDeletei like this easy-breezy weekend style outfit. it is so pretty! but not overly girly since you added the black knee socks and black oxfords. you really are inspiring in the way you can work hats into so many of your outfits.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what you got in the mail! getting packages is the best. i feel like it's a holiday every time one comes... which is kinda sad since mostly it is stuff i bought myself... but i just pretend it came from a friend. typically a friend named Etsy. ~joelle
LOl those pics are too cute! I love snail mail as well. I have 3 pen-pals, it is fun sending mail all over the place.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and that hat is CUTE!!
Oh this is so cute!! I might even have to style chain this up when the weather gets warmer (which the weatherman swore it will this week).
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute and pretty here! I love this look!
