Oh, indoor pictures ... you're so boring. Unfortunately, I just wasn't in the mood to be cold today. Mother nature on the other hand ... very cold, indeed. I've officially hit that point in the year where my patience with winter is rapidly dwindling. I'm counting down the days until I can pack away my heavy coat.
Luckily, these pants are amazing and will certainly help me get through the next couple of months. I've been wanting a pair of cropped trousers forever. Well, forever since Octoberish, anyway. Unfortunately, finding a pair to fit me was a bit challenging. So many of the fashiony ones are made for legs much more slender than mine. But I knew Goodwill wouldn't let me down.
I picked these up at the same time I got the plaid ones that I made into shorts. Of course, these were much longer and had a cuff on them. They were hideous mom pants (not my mom, though). It's amazing how a couple of inches can totally transform a garment. Now, they are sure to be my go to pants in the coming weeks. They're a super soft wool and are fully lined for added warmth.
And just in case you didn't notice the shoes.
Pants: thrifted and hemmed, 30¢ - Blouse: Sears, $9 - Belt: Ross, $7.50

I have this ridiculous love for yellow mixed with black and white stripes. Freaking awesome, Kyla!!! I have trousers like that...they are a *tad* tight in my smooshy waist, though...I hope to amend that with excercise. (rather than try to thrift better pants)
ReplyDeleteThose shoes....I can't even talk about them, I'm too jealous...
I adore that blouse with the cardi! Love love love. The whole outfit looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose are some nice pants! The thrift store is such an awesome place. Oh and those shoes are divine!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow top looks AMAZING with that black and white sweater! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI really like this look! I'm a sucker for a mustard colored top and your hair looks so healthy!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes make me want to do jazz hands or something! I love them! I saw them in the mall and wanted to get them but I don't think I could pull it off. I love your color choices with those combo!
ReplyDeleteWell don't you look lovely! This outfit is so eye-catching, but in a very subtly chic way.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've really been enjoying your "flat out" posts, they make me feel so much better about being a flats girl. No medical problems here, just an inability to walk without wobbling! :]
I am amazed at the Goodwill prices you seem to find. The Goodwills near me all have the same set prices based on type of clothing....long sleeved shirts, sweaters, skirts, pants are $3.79, short sleeved shirts are $2.79, jackets and dresses are $4.99. Not that I am complaining at the Goodwill prices, but I am jealous of you finding $0.30 pants!
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo great!! Something slightly Annie Hall-esque about this. I love the look! You are so clever with the alterations.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried about your budget. I think you may have blown it for those 30 cent pants... no groceries this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Goodwill doesn't let us down... you look great!

I love the cropped pants. I've been in the mood for some too of late. A raid on The Man's wardrobe proved fruitless so I'm off to try the thrift avenue next weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope I have as much luck!
(Without the wool and lining though, I think I'd pass out.)
This is fantastic! A great inspiration as always. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are just too awesome. Love the trousers, I FINALLY bought some today actually after looking for the right pair for the past few weeks.

This outfit is wonderful on you Kyla. I can say right now that I am not sure that I could ever pull off cropped pleated front wool trousers, but I'm pretty sure if you keep wearing them I'll have a pair myself by March 1st.

ReplyDeleteKyla, this is absolutely, without a doubt, one of my favorite looks on you (I feel like I tell you that all the time!). The pants are perfectly cropped (I'm TOTALLY craving a pair!), and the colors and patterns are perfection. And the shoes...OH the shoes!

ReplyDeleteLove the mustardy yellow with the stripes. It's a combo I haven't seen often.
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of Janet Jackson in her "Alright" video. The one where she's in the awesome flashy suit with the two guys and Cab Calloway? Yeah... that one. :)
The blouse is very pretty. I like the color ad the neckline detail.
