Don't let that sunshine and those perfect shadows (including that of my tripod) deceive you.
If I look like I'm in pain, it's because I am. I literally risked life and limb for these photos. About ten minutes after getting my gloves back on, my fingers were still throbbing in pain. Twentyish degrees cold, but totally worth it.
Today, I'm sporting more non-denim work wear, courtesy of my husband for Christmas. Before giving him all sorts of props for his great taste (hehe), let me clarify that I did the shopping, he did the wrapping. I've finally invested in a pair of high-waisted pants that actually fit. Don't worry though, my way too big pair won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
I only wish I had worn different shoes. John did flex his style muscle this morning by voicing his preference for my blue shoes over these. I think I was hooked on wearing the studs or something and disregarded his loving input.
Jacket: JCP, $20 - Tee: Target, $6 - Pants: JCP, $21 (but I fully intend to go back for a price adjustment, since they are now down to $15) - Shoes: DIYed Target Flats, $10 - Necklace: NY&Co., $10ish
I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU WEARING SKINNY JEANS, I THINK IT WOULD FIT YOU MUCH BETTER. ;)

Nice investment. I feel like gray pants are the perfect staple for work...and good call on the price adjustment. I need to do that more often.
ReplyDeleteSimple colours, simple pieces, simply wonderful outfit.
ReplyDeleteYou look very professional here.
I can see why you went with the studded grey shoes, it all matches :p
I love everything about this outfit...uber comfy and chic:)
ReplyDeleteLove those pants on you!!! It gives such a nice Katherin Hepburn feel. I was going to buy them myself, actually, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to wear them in heels.
ReplyDeleteso sleek! I love the pants!
ReplyDeleteI just love those pants! I've been looking for high waisted pants for forever! love this look
ReplyDeleteThose pants are lovely. I think you can leave the gloves on next time! Actually, I think some of those short (wrist length) vintage leather gloves would be perfect for many of your outfits.....
ReplyDeleteAnd then no risking limb for us! :-)
Great pics! Love the necklace!
ReplyDeletebtw it DOES look very comfy
ReplyDeletei love those pants! where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is gorgeous on you! Love the gray color and the high waisted pants! AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteYup, I think the key with high-waisted, wide-leg pants is to wear them with a heel. This coming from a woman who has been tromping around in combat boots for two days because of the snow, but I'm just sayin'. Maybe wear them with a heel when the weather warms up. :)
ReplyDeleteyou are a brave, brave girl! and so stylish in the cold...now i feel even more embarrassed by my frumpy layering yesterday!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love this look on you!! I'm a big fan of the high waist!! I think it's just slimming and awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteThose pants are fab. I'm really glad that the gigantic pants are staying because I love those. They are awesome in a Buster Keaton/Charlie Chaplin kind of way!
ReplyDeleteHey, I tried to comment already but I'm not sure it worked...I was just saying that I loooove your two big pants! They remind me of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton who both had fantastic style!
ReplyDeleteI love those pants! You're a brave woman for doing that shoot in the cold!
ReplyDeleteoooh you look beautiful! I love this outfit and that necklace looks gorgeous!! Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI love the rolled-sleeved blazer. So cute & versatile!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely and elegant! Oh my, -20degrees? Brave you! I probably wouldn't go out even in my coat:D;**
ReplyDeleteGreat pants! Love that necklace too!
ReplyDeleteHoney Bunny - It was 20 degrees farenheit, but the wind is wicked! I would cry if it was 20 below!
ReplyDeleteEmily - I soooo wish I could wear heels with these. I agree, it would look better. But alas, I've had to shelve the heels in favor of a healthy back. So, I'm trying to find the perfect pair of flats to make it work. Wish me luck!
Bianca - I'm TOTALLY getting wrist gloves now! I think I actually have a pair of my grandmother's. I may just carry them around for picture purposes :)
Thank you all so much for your input! You're the best!
