NOW PLAYING: KYLA AND THE TOPKNOT

At long last, I give you ... the topknot tutorial.  Enjoy!

Drop me a line if you have any questions!  And if you try it out, I'd love to see a photo, so drop me the link!

DOUBLE KNOT

11-16-09 1

Today, I'm sporting the knot on my head, as well as my shirt.
Such a knotty girl!
(Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

It was yet another beautiful day today.  Can you believe I'm not wearing tights in November?!

11-16-09 3

My outfits for the last couple of weeks have been so haphazard.  There's been very little preparation and a whole lot of last minute scrambling.  I don't know how, but I'm ending up with so many combinations that I'm loving.  I've been looking at my closet with such an open mind lately and it's been so much fun.

With the exception of the boots and socks, this entire outfit has resided in my wardrobe for months at minimum.  And, it's another super cheap get up!

Stay tuned - I've got some treats in store!

WISHFUL THINKING

Since it is my birthweek, I've been doing a little wishing.  There's not a lot on my list right now, but I just can't get these out of my mind:

If you're feeling generous, I'm a size 8.

RAMBLINGS OF A MONDAY AFTERNOON

Sorry I disappeared for a few days.  My best friend from high school and her boyfriend came to visit this weekend, which meant Friday was spent mostly procrastinating which then resulted in some late night cleaning.  It was such a short visit, and so we were really busy, but fun was had by all!

Here's what's on my mind today:

1.  Yesterday was the perfect start of my birthweek.  Yes, I acknowledge the whole week - one day just isn't enough.  It was 70 degrees, sunny and gorgeous yesterday!  It's cooling off over the next few days, but still the best birthweek weather a girl could ever wish for!  Thank you, Mother Nature!

2.  Body detox has officially begun.  Nothing extreme, just lots of veggies, water, exercise and lean eating this week.  All the junk food and liquid fun over the weekend have left me feeling a little like trash.

3.  As evident from #2, I just hang like I used to.

4.  Kaiserschmarrn ist sehr gut!

5.  As evident from #4, we tried some yummy Austrian cuisine this weekend.  Is it possible to over-sausage?

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

This is turning into the best birthmonth ever!

When I got home today, I had the most squeal-provoking email from Linda!  She chose me for her Blogger of the Month on her blog Struggles of a Creative Mind

Even better?  She's an incredible artist and illustrated me!  She chose such a great picture to use and I LOOOOOOOOVE it!  I think I like the illustration waaaay better than the photo!

Love her artwork? (Seriously, why wouldn't you?)  Check out her website where you can score your own Misketch!

I love you, Linda!  Thank you a hundred times over!

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

11-12-09 1

Man, I had a stellar day today!  I've been going, going, going since I stepped out of bed at 7 this morning, but it was all worth it.  Be on the lookout for a few more posts tonight!

11-12-09 2

Today I left myself another whopping 25 minutes to shower and dress.  Hey, I'm just trying to make every second count.  Anyway, I really didn't want to wear a skirt again, but I couldn't wear jeans and just wasn't feeling any of my other pants.  So, I pulled out this snakeskin number from a couple of weeks ago.

I swapped out the gray tights for black and the red boots for taupe.  I paired my tight knit mini skirt under the dress for modesty (short, voluminous skirt + prominent behind = lots of potential mooning).  It peeks out a bit, but I kind of like it!

Since I was running around so much, the husband was kind enough to snap a few shots for me this afternoon.  I think he done good.  Thanks, Meatball!

Stay tuned...
